Bed and Breakfast is also termed as B&B and it is a small accommodation where the guests are given accommodation facilities and breakfast. Bed and Breakfast does not offer any other meal. This term was originated in United Kingdom but now it is used all over the world. Bed and Breakfasts are the private homes having less than 10 bedrooms. Moreover, B&B are generally used for the commercial purpose.
Bed and Breakfast accommodations offer cheap services because the owners design these houses very simply to keep their costs low. In most of the Bed and Breakfasts there are private rooms for guests with an attached bathrooms with each room. In some of the accommodations the bathrooms can be shared by the guests of two or more private rooms. Private rooms of Bed and Breakfasts are not luxurious rooms but they are designed to provide maximum comfort to the people. No other meal is served in these rooms and the breakfast is served in the rooms of the guests or in dining rooms.
Most of the Bed and Breakfasts are operated as private and primary businesses of the individuals but some of the individuals are also running this business as a secondary source of income. In many Bed and Breakfasts the owner or the runner of the business does maximum of the work on his own like cleaning of the rooms and cooking etc. In the large Bed and Breakfast the professional staff is hired for cooking and cleaning of rooms. In order to keep Bed and Breakfasts different from the Small Hotels, professional management is not hired in these accomodations. Bed and Breakfast is a kind of tertiary business and it comes below the standards of Small Hotels.

These small guest houses are made in a boat or houseboat and Bed and Breakfast services are offered there. Although Bed and Breakfasts are available all over the world but their services can vary on the basis of the national differences.
In addition, there are proper laws and regulations implemented on all Bed and Breakfasts but these regulations can vary in each national jurisdiction. The common regulation that is followed in all Bed and Breakfasts is safety. According to regulations, Bed and Breakfasts should have proper rooms, bathrooms, proper fire escape plan in space and smoking detectors in all of the rooms. This shows that all necessities are usually offered in Bed and Breakfasts.
Therefore, we can say that Bed and Breakfasts provide the best options to the travelers who cannot afford the high rates of the hotels and Inns.
